The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has stepped up nationwide field inspections as complaints over call drops, weak signals, and slow mobile internet continue to affect users in different parts of the country.
PTA said its zonal teams are carrying out on-site inspections of mobile operators’ towers and network sites to assess service quality under real operating conditions.

The monitoring drive is focusing on areas where users have reported difficulty connecting calls, frequent call drops, weak network coverage, and reduced mobile data speeds.
PTA teams are also examining whether mobile towers have a reliable electricity supply, particularly in areas where load shedding frequently disrupts network operations.
As part of the inspections, officials are checking battery backup systems installed at tower sites as well as the performance of generators and solar power arrangements used to keep networks operational during power outages.
The regulator said special attention is being given to locations where mobile towers are reported to shut down during load shedding, as such outages can directly affect both voice and internet services.
Alongside technical checks, PTA teams are recording the actual experiences and complaints of mobile users to better understand service problems at the local level.
Local administrations, elected representatives, and respected community members are also being involved in the field monitoring process to provide feedback on network performance in affected areas.
PTA said deficiencies identified during inspections will be taken up with the relevant mobile operators so that corrective measures can be implemented.
The authority added that the expanded monitoring exercise is aimed at improving network reliability, strengthening operator accountability, and ensuring better mobile service quality for consumers across Pakistan.
