Samsung Wallet Adds USDC Support for 82 Million Galaxy Devices
Samsung is taking another major step into digital payments by bringing USDC stablecoin support directly to Samsung Wallet. The new feature is expected to launch in the last week of October 2026 for eligible Galaxy users in the United States.
Instead of requiring users to download a separate cryptocurrency application or manage private keys themselves, Samsung will integrate stablecoin functionality directly into its existing Wallet experience. The company says the feature will initially be available across approximately 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the U.S.
USDC Comes Directly to Samsung Wallet
USDC, a U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoin, will be the first cryptocurrency supported by Samsung Wallet's new stablecoin functionality.
Eligible users will be able to access USDC from Samsung Wallet and send it to compatible external cryptocurrency wallets. Samsung says these transfers can be completed within seconds, and Samsung itself will not charge a transfer fee for transfers to compatible wallets. However, third-party wallet providers or exchanges may apply their own fees.
The integration is designed to make stablecoins easier to use for people who may not want to deal with traditional crypto wallets, private keys or separate applications.
International Money Transfers
One of the biggest advantages of the new Samsung Wallet feature is its international transfer capability.
Eligible users will be able to send money to qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients can receive the funds in their local currency without needing to own cryptocurrency or install a crypto wallet.
Samsung says applicable fees and estimated delivery times will be displayed inside the app before a transfer is confirmed. Availability and supported bank accounts will vary depending on the destination country.
This could make Samsung Wallet particularly useful for international payments, travel-related transfers and sending money to friends or family overseas.

Coinbase and Bastion Will Handle the Crypto Infrastructure
Samsung is not directly becoming a cryptocurrency custodian.
The company is working with Bastion, a regulated stablecoin custodian and infrastructure provider, to power the cross-border payment framework. Bastion has partnered with Coinbase, which will safeguard Samsung Wallet USDC balances through Coinbase Prime Vault.
Coinbase says USDC will automatically appear as the default dollar stablecoin when eligible Samsung Wallet users choose the option to buy stablecoins.
This partnership builds on the existing relationship between Samsung and Coinbase, which has already included Samsung Pay integration within Coinbase's app and Coinbase One benefits available through Samsung Wallet.
Solana and Sui Provide Blockchain Support
Samsung is also working with blockchain infrastructure providers, including Solana and Sui, to support the new stablecoin functionality.
The Sui integration, for example, is intended to allow USDC transfers on Sui directly through Samsung Wallet, while Sui says its infrastructure can support gasless stablecoin transfers.
The use of multiple infrastructure partners gives Samsung flexibility as it builds its stablecoin payment system and potentially expands support for additional blockchain networks in the future.
Security and Biometric Authentication
Security will remain an important part of Samsung's stablecoin implementation.
Eligible Galaxy devices will require biometric authentication for transfers. Samsung also says it will not hold customer funds or act as the digital asset custodian. Instead, regulated partners will provide custody, account and money-movement services.
To qualify at launch, users must be eligible U.S. residents aged 18 or older, have a Samsung Account and use a compatible Galaxy device running Android 13 or later. Identity verification and biometric authentication setup will also be required.
Could Samsung Wallet Become a Crypto Payment Platform?
Samsung appears to have plans beyond simply allowing users to transfer USDC.
The company says future versions could allow eligible users to make payments with stablecoins online or by tapping a compatible Galaxy device at physical stores.
Samsung also plans to explore expansion into additional countries, although international availability will depend on local regulations and financial requirements.
If these plans move forward, Samsung Wallet could eventually become more than a traditional digital wallet for payment cards, tickets, IDs and keys. It could also become a mainstream interface for stablecoin payments.
When Will Samsung Wallet USDC Support Launch?
Samsung says stablecoin functionality will begin rolling out during the last week of October 2026.
The initial rollout is limited to eligible users in the United States and compatible Galaxy devices. Samsung has not yet announced a specific global launch date.
The company says the feature could expand to additional markets later, depending on regulatory developments.
What This Means for Galaxy Users
Samsung's USDC integration could significantly simplify cryptocurrency transfers for Galaxy owners.
Instead of installing a dedicated crypto wallet, users will eventually be able to access supported stablecoin features from an application already installed on their phones. International recipients can also receive money directly into qualifying bank accounts in local currency.
With Samsung, Coinbase, Bastion, Solana and Sui involved, the project represents a significant push to bring stablecoins closer to everyday mobile payments.
For now, however, the feature remains focused on eligible U.S. Galaxy users. Users in other countries, including Pakistan, will need to wait for Samsung to announce availability in their markets.

Final Thoughts
Samsung's decision to integrate USDC directly into Samsung Wallet could help make stablecoins more accessible to mainstream smartphone users. By combining Samsung's mobile ecosystem with Coinbase's crypto infrastructure and regulated partners such as Bastion, the company is attempting to make cross-border digital money transfers feel more like a conventional mobile-wallet transaction.
The initial U.S. launch is only the beginning. If Samsung eventually expands the service internationally and adds stablecoin payments for online and physical purchases, Samsung Wallet could play a much larger role in the future of mobile payments.
