Xbox Game Pass Adds Two More Games in 2026, Including a Surprise Shadow Drop
Xbox Game Pass subscribers have another reason to check their libraries, as two additional games have been confirmed for the service in 2026. One of the titles has already arrived without much fanfare, while the other is scheduled to launch later this year.
The latest additions are Valiant Hearts: Coming Home and Don't Fret, giving Xbox players two very different experiences to look forward to.
Valiant Hearts: Coming Home Arrives as a Surprise Addition
The first surprise is Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, Ubisoft's follow-up to Valiant Hearts: The Great War. The game was released in 2024 and has now appeared on Xbox Game Pass without a major announcement from either Ubisoft or Xbox.
The title is currently available for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud Gaming through Game Pass Ultimate.
In Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, players follow four different characters during World War I. The story combines exploration, action, puzzles and emotional storytelling.
Players can experience the journeys of James, the brother of Freddie from the previous game, George, a skilled Allied pilot, Ernst, a German diver, and Anna, who continues her mission to save lives.
The unexpected addition appears to have arrived through Ubisoft's Game Pass-related offerings, although Microsoft and Ubisoft have not provided a detailed announcement.
Don't Fret Coming to Game Pass Later This Year
The second game is Don't Fret, an unusual horror-themed adventure from Digital Pajamas. The game was recently featured during the 28 Games Later horror showcase, but its Xbox Game Pass availability was revealed separately.
Don't Fret is expected to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Cloud in Winter 2026.
The game puts players in control of Fret, a sentient guitar trapped inside Harmonic Heights, a prestigious music school hiding a dark secret.
Players will need to avoid enemies, solve music-based puzzles and explore the environment while uncovering memories that explain Fret's strange situation.
Its combination of horror, music and puzzle-solving gives Don't Fret a distinctive concept that could make it an interesting Game Pass addition.
Two More Games Strengthen the 2026 Game Pass Lineup
With Valiant Hearts: Coming Home already playable and Don't Fret scheduled for later in the year, Xbox Game Pass continues to expand its 2026 lineup.
The surprise arrival of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is particularly interesting because subscribers discovered the game with little advance warning. Meanwhile, Don't Fret gives players another upcoming title to watch as the year progresses.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers can expect more announcements as Microsoft continues adding new games across console, PC and cloud platforms.
