Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable version of its Android 17-based One UI 9, debuting first on the flagship Galaxy S26 series. Beta testers are first in line to receive the update, while the official wider release for standard users kicks off today.

Rather than a drastic visual overhaul, One UI 9.0 focuses heavily on practical, quality-of-life improvements. The Quick Panel has been updated to allow users to organize shortcuts based on their personal habits. Samsung Notes introduces a new "Tape" feature, letting users quickly hide or reveal specific sections of their notes while studying or referencing information. Meanwhile, mobile gamers will appreciate the updated Game Booster, which now offers granular frame rate and hardware resource optimization tailored for individual titles.

The absolute standout of this update, however, is Samsung DeX. The new version significantly improves multi-monitor output and introduces a much more flexible window-snapping mechanism. These tweaks allow DeX to operate almost indistinguishably from a true desktop experience, finally solving the screen-space constraints for power users who rely on heavy multitasking.

Alongside the Galaxy S26 rollout, Samsung has also opened the One UI 9.0 beta program for a massive lineup of older flagships and mid-range devices. The eligible list spans the Galaxy S25, S24, and S23 series, the latest foldables (Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, Flip 6), and a wide array of A-series phones, including the Galaxy A57, A56, A55, A37, A36, A35, and A25. All of these devices are expected to receive their complete, stable updates over the coming weeks.
