GTA 6 TV Trailer Cuts Shower Scenes and Extends Several Shots
Rockstar Games has started promoting Grand Theft Auto VI on television with an edited version of its recently released launch trailer. The commercial appeared during NBA opening-night broadcasts on October 20, 2026, giving fans another look at one of the most anticipated video games of the year.
Although the TV advertisement largely follows the official launch trailer, viewers noticed several differences. Some intimate scenes featuring protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos were removed, while a few existing shots were extended to fill the gaps.
What Changed in the GTA 6 TV Commercial?
The most noticeable edits involve scenes featuring Jason and Lucia in the shower. The television version retains one brief moment but removes two other shots that appeared in the online launch trailer.
The commercial also gives viewers slightly longer glimpses of certain sequences. These include footage of Raul Bautista dancing, Lucia jumping toward a plane’s landing gear, and a moment involving Jason and Lucia. Some other action shots also appear to have been extended.
However, the changes do not appear to reveal significant new story information or previously unseen gameplay. Instead, the edited commercial mostly rearranges or lengthens footage already shown in the launch trailer.
Why Did Rockstar Edit the GTA 6 Trailer for TV?
Rockstar Games has not publicly explained the specific edits. However, television advertising often follows different content standards from online video releases, particularly when commercials air during major sporting events that attract broad audiences.
The revised version keeps much of the game's action-oriented material, including crime and dramatic sequences, while reducing some of the more intimate moments. This allows Rockstar to promote the game during a mainstream broadcast without using every scene from the original trailer.
The commercial's appearance during NBA coverage also highlights Rockstar's increasingly visible marketing campaign as the game's release approaches.

Why Is the Xbox Logo Missing?
Another detail noticed by fans is the commercial's emphasis on PlayStation branding. Reports about the television version indicate that Xbox branding is absent from the closing section.
This does not mean that GTA 6 has been cancelled for Xbox. Rockstar's official game information lists the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a planned release date of November 19, 2026.
The PlayStation-focused promotion appears consistent with the game's marketing partnership with Sony. Players should distinguish between advertising and platform availability: the omission of an Xbox logo from a particular commercial does not establish platform exclusivity.
GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms
Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The latest launch trailer offers another look at Jason and Lucia and the fictional state of Leonida, including the Miami-inspired setting of Vice City.
The edited television advertisement is another sign that the company is increasing its promotional activity ahead of launch. Fans will likely continue comparing every new commercial and trailer for details, although minor editing changes should not automatically be treated as evidence of new gameplay or story developments.
For now, the GTA 6 TV trailer offers a slightly different presentation of familiar footage rather than a major new reveal. More advertising may appear as Rockstar moves closer to the game's scheduled release.
