Samsung Expands Stable One UI 9 Rollout to Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung is expanding the stable One UI 9 update to more Galaxy S26 users around the world. Based on Android 17, the latest software brings new Galaxy AI capabilities, improved personalization, privacy features and several changes designed to make everyday tasks easier.

Samsung initially started the stable One UI 9 rollout for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra on September 16, 2026. The company has continued expanding availability across additional markets, with regional rollout activity increasing from September 30.

Galaxy S26 Series Gets One UI 9

The stable update is available for Samsung's latest flagship lineup:

  • Galaxy S26
  • Galaxy S26+
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra

The update follows One UI 9's debut on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. Samsung is distributing the software gradually, meaning availability can vary depending on the country, carrier and device variant.

Samsung has also indicated that One UI 9 will continue expanding to additional Galaxy devices following the S26 rollout.

New Galaxy AI Features

One UI 9 puts greater emphasis on contextual Galaxy AI features. Samsung wants the software to understand what users are doing and provide relevant suggestions without requiring them to switch between multiple applications.

One of the major additions is Now Nudge. The feature can provide suggestions based on the information currently displayed on the phone. For example, while discussing plans through a messaging application, it can help users access reservation information or save a location without leaving the conversation.

Samsung has also expanded Now Brief, allowing users to personalize the information displayed through new cards covering areas such as health, weather and video.

My FanCam Makes Video Tracking Easier

Another interesting addition is My FanCam.

The feature can automatically follow a selected person in a recorded video and keep them centered in the frame. This can be useful when recording performances, sporting events, family activities or other situations where the subject moves around.

Instead of manually adjusting the framing afterward, the AI attempts to keep the selected person in focus throughout the footage.

Better Translation and Document Scanning

One UI 9 also introduces improvements to several existing Galaxy tools.

Samsung's Interpreter feature receives a new Thread View that makes translated conversations easier to follow by providing access to earlier exchanges. Conversation Mode has also been optimized for faster translation.

The Document Scan feature has been improved as well. Samsung says it can now handle difficult documents such as curved book pages and pages with folded corners with less manual adjustment.

The Voice Recorder application also presents generated summaries in a more organized format, using elements such as headings and tables to make information easier to review.

New Security and Privacy Tools

Samsung is adding several security-focused features with One UI 9.

Security Brief can highlight important security and privacy information, including alerts related to malware, applications installed from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions.

Meanwhile, Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, such as applications attempting to access certain permissions in the background without an obvious reason.

Samsung has also expanded Scam Detection to additional countries and languages, providing protection against potential scam calls in supported markets.

Device Care and Warranty Information

One UI 9 also makes device support easier to access.

Samsung has introduced a Warranty and Care section within Settings. Depending on the market, users can check warranty information, run device diagnostics, view repair estimates and access Samsung Care+ or service-booking options directly from their Galaxy device.

Global Rollout Will Happen in Stages

Although Samsung has expanded One UI 9 availability, users should not expect every Galaxy S26 device to receive the update simultaneously.

Regional information indicated that the international rollout would expand around September 30, while some markets have their own schedules. For example, Samsung's regional communications identified September 30 as the starting point for the Galaxy S26 series rollout in Brazil, while other markets can follow their own timelines.

Carrier approval and regional firmware differences can also affect when an update becomes available.

How to Check for the Update

Galaxy S26 owners can manually check whether One UI 9 is available by going to:

Settings → Software update → Download and install

If the update does not appear immediately, it may simply not have reached the particular region or carrier version yet.

Final Thoughts

Samsung's One UI 9 update represents a significant software upgrade for the Galaxy S26 family, combining Android 17 with new Galaxy AI functions, enhanced privacy controls and improvements to everyday Galaxy applications.

The rollout is taking place in phases, with Samsung expanding availability across international markets. Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra owners can check their device's Software Update menu to see when the new firmware becomes available in their region.

Samsung is also expected to continue bringing One UI 9 to additional Galaxy smartphones, tablets and foldable devices as the wider rollout progresses.
